Attendee app: Using the chat area

This guide explains how to use the chat area in the RingCentral Events Attendee mobile app.

Note: In a multi-track event, there are multiple activity panels and chats. You can use the event-wide chat to interact with all attendees across the event or chat within a segment such as a Stage and a Session to discuss content specific to that segment. 

Event-wide chat 

To access the main event-wide chat, tap the Chat icon in the top right corner and go to the Chat tab. 

    

Stages chat

To access the chat for a specific Stage:

  1. Go to Explore > Stages.
  2. If there are multiple Stages inside the event, select one that interests you.
  3. Inside a Stage, you will see the chat directly underneath the video feed. Toggle between the Chat, PollsQ&A, and People tabs to use different features within this segment.
Note: In the Attendee app, you will be able to use the Stage chat and the rest of the activity panel only if there's a live broadcast.

Sessions chat

To access the chat for a specific Session:

  1. Go to Explore > Sessions.
  2. Select a Session that interests you and tap Watch now.
       


  3. Inside a Session, tap the Chat icon in the top right corner.
  4. In the Session activities, you can post a message in the chat. Toggle between the Chat, PollsQ&A, and People tabs to use different features within this segment.
       

Expo Booths chat

To access the chat for a specific Expo Booth:

  1. Go to Explore > Expo.
  2. Select a Booth that interests you and tap Watch now.
  3. If the Expo Booth is set up as a Session, tap the Chat icon in the top right corner (similar to a Session room).
  4. If the Expo Booth is set up to display a pre-recorded video or slides, the activity panel is placed underneath it (similar to a Stage). Toggle between the Chat, PollsQ&A, and People tabs to use different features within this segment.
