Integrating Pardot with RingCentral Events

  • Updated

This guide explains how to install and map the Pardot app on your Organization account and configure your Pardot account.

What is Pardot?

B2B Marketing Automation (formerly Pardot) is a Salesforce-based marketing automation platform used for lead scoring, email marketing, campaign management, ROI reporting, and many other essential activities. To learn more about Pardot pricing, refer to the Salesforce website.

How does the integration work?

With the Pardot integration, you will be able to import all registrations from Pardot to RingCentral Events and push the Magic Link back to Pardot.

The Pardot integration syncs data every minute.

Important: The Organization owner must have the Admin role to grant integration access for data transfer. If the Organization owner is set to Member, another team member must change the role back to Admin for the integration to work. For detailed steps, refer to our guide on Changing a team member's permissions.

Requirements for Pardot integration

To set up the integration you will need:

  • At least version 4 of the Pardot API.
  • Pardot and Salesforce connected environment (a Salesforce Campaign connected to the Pardot Campaign).
  • Pardot Business Unit ID: To get go to Setup > Pardot Account Setup in your Salesforce account. Your Pardot Business Unit ID begins with "0Uv" and is 18 characters long.
  • Pardot authentication details.
  • A custom field on the Prospect object in Pardot where the integration will store the RingCentral Events Magic Link.
  • Salesforce authentication details (the user should have access to the Campaign object).
  • A field on the Campaign object in Salesforce where you will add the RingCentral Events Ticket Integration Code.

As part of this integration, we will use both Salesforce and Pardot platforms. The Salesforce platform stores the event details on the Campaign object. In Pardot, we create Prospects for the same campaign and populate Magic links on the Prospect object.

Testing the Pardot integration

To test if the registrations are imported from Pardot to RingCentral Events:

  1. Make sure the correct Ticket Integration Code is being used when a registration is created.

Tip: In the RingCentral Events, retrieve the integration code for each ticket by navigating to the Event Dashboard > Registration > Tickets. Hover over the listing and click the Copy icon to copy the URL for each ticket.

Then, copy and paste the alphanumeric code from the ticket URL (after the "=" sign) as your integration code.

  2. In your Salesforce account, create a new ticket under your Campaign object. Add the Ticket Integration Code you just copied to your corresponding custom field.

  3. In your Pardot account, if you are creating registrations through forms, create a new form, and link it to the same Salesforce campaign as above. If you already have the form created, update the campaign so that registrations will be created for the correct event. Next, create a test registration through the form (at the backend, it will create a Prospect, which is linked to the above campaign).

  4. If you are directly creating registrations as prospects, create a prospect and link it to the above campaign.

  5. In your RingCentral Events account, go to your Event Dashboard > Registration > Magic Links > Manage Invites to confirm that the registration has been added to the list.
  6. In your Pardot account, open your Prospect details and confirm the Magic Link has been populated in the corresponding custom field that you created on your Prospect object.
