Integrating Mentimeter with RingCentral Events

This guide explains how to install the Mentimeter app on your Organization account and add it to your event for engaging polls and surveys.

What is Mentimeter? 

Mentimeter is an engagement tool used to create polls, quizzes, word clouds, slides, Q&As and more. Mentimeter offers a free plan with limited functionality, while advanced features require a paid subscription. 

How does the integration work?

Mentimeter can be embedded into the activity panel of a Stage, Session, Expo Booth, or Reception enabling attendees to participate in the poll within RingCentral Events without leaving the platform.

Installing Mentimeter

To install the Mentimeter app on your Organization account: 

1. In your Organization Dashboard, go to the Apps tab.
2. Click Discover more on App Store.
   
   
   
3. In the App store, you can find Mentimeter under the Polls & surveys category.
   
   
   
4. On the Mentimeter page, click Install app.
   ✔  You'll be prompted to confirm your choice. Click Install to continue.
   

Adding Mentimeter to your event 

• In a multi-track event, Mentimeter can be added to the Reception area and each Stage, Session and Expo Booth individually. 

  1. In the Event Dashboard, navigate to your Reception settings or to the settings of the specific Stage, Session or Expo Booth to which you'd like to add the app.
  2. Scroll down to the Apps section.
  3. Under Mentimeter, select the Enabled check box.
  4. Enter the tab name (e.g. it can be Mentimeter or anything else).
  5. Enter the Voting link ID.

     Note: Your Voting link ID can be copied from the Mentimeter Voting link URL. Here is what the URL will look like.
     

  6. Once ready, click Save.

• In a Webinar event, there is a single activity panel due to the singular virtual space, either Stage or Session. To add Mentimeter to your Webinar event:

  1. Go to Event Dashboard > Setup > Basics. 
  2. Scroll down to the Apps section.
  3. Toggle Mentimeter on.
  4. Enter the tab name (e.g. it can be Mentimeter or anything else).
  5. Enter the Voting link ID.

     Note: Your Voting link ID can be copied from the Mentimeter Voting link URL. Here is what the URL will look like.
     

  6. Once ready, click Save.
