This guide explains how to install the Syncwords app on your Organization account and add it to your event for real-time captioning and translation.
What is Syncwords?
Syncwords provides captioning and translation services. Syncwords supports more than 100 languages. You need a paid license to use this app. Refer to the Syncwords website to get a quote.
How does the integration work?
Syncwords can be embedded into the activity panel of a Stage or a Session, allowing attendees to follow along with captions that appear in real time. Attendees will be able to select one of the available languages.
Installing Syncwords
To install the Interprefy app on your Organization account:
- In your Organization Dashboard, go to the Apps tab.
- Click Discover More on App Store.
- In the App store, you can find Syncwords under the Translation category.
- On the Syncwords page, click Install app.
✔ You'll be prompted to confirm your choice. Click Install to continue.
Adding Syncwords to your event

In a multi-track event, Syncwords can be added to each Stage and Session individually.
- In the Event Dashboard, navigate to the selected Stage or Session settings.
- Scroll down to the Apps section.
- Under Syncwords, select the Enabled check box.
- Enter the tab name (e.g. it can be Translation or anything else).
- Enter the Widget ID.
Note: Your Widget ID can be copied from your Syncwords URL. Here what the URL will look like:

- Once ready, click Save.

In a Webinar event, there is a single activity panel due to the singular virtual space, either Stage or Session. To add Syncwords to your Webinar event:
- Go to Event Dashboard > Setup > Basics.
- Scroll down to the Apps section.
- Toggle Syncwords on.
- Enter the tab name (e.g. it can be Translation or anything else).
- Enter the Widget ID.
Note: Your Widget ID can be copied from your Syncwords URL. Here what the URL will look like:

- Once ready, click Save.
Disconnecting Syncwords
To remove the Syncwords integration from the event, navigate to the associated event area settings in the Event Dashboard and unselect the Enabled check box next to the app.
Alternatively, go to the Apps tab in your Organization Dashboard to uninstall the Syncwords integration for the whole Organization.
