Purchasing event tickets for others

  • Updated

If the event host has enabled bulk registration, you will be able to purchase several tickets for multiple users in one order. This guide explains how to register others for an event and what to keep in mind when purchasing tickets in bulk.

Important: By registering others for an event you are creating a RingCentral Events account for them and agree on their behalf to the RingCentral Acceptable Use Policy, Global Platform Terms and Privacy Policy.

To purchase multiple tickets:

  1. Go to the event landing page. Landing pages may have different designs, but most likely, you'll need to click Register to get started.
  2. In the Registration widget, select the number of tickets you'd like to purchase and click Continue.
At this point, you can sign in to your existing RingCentral Events user account to have your data populated automatically and enter a promo code if applicable.

  3. Next, enter the registration information for each ticket holder (email and name). You can assign only one ticket per person. Once ready, click Continue.
Important: Ensure you enter the correct email addresses.

  4. Next, if the tickets are paid, you will be prompted to enter your card information. Paying by card is the only supported online payment method on RingCentral Events. Once ready, click Register.
Note: If you're signed into your RingCentral Events user account, your name, and email will be automatically used as cardholder details. Sign out from your account and start the registration process once again if you need to use different cardholder details.

  5. If the tickets are free, under Who's ordering? you will be prompted to enter your details (email and name). Once ready, click Register.

  6. Finally, review the registration confirmation and the email addresses a confirmation email is sent to.

Invited users will get automatically registered for the event. If they don't have a RingCentral Events account, it will be created for them by default. They will receive an order confirmation email with event details, the personalized link to enter the event and the QR code (in case they have a hybrid or an onsite ticket). They will also see who signed them up for the event.

Important notes:

  • Custom registration form questions: If the event host has added custom questions, registrants will be asked to answer them when entering the event for the first time.
  • Booking seats for onsite segments: The seat reservation option for onsite segments is not available when purchasing tickets for others. The registrants will need to book their seats inside the event venue or the Attendee app.
  • One Time Password authentication: If your user account is automatically created when you register them for an event, it will have One Time Password (OTP) enabled. This means that they'll be emailed with a passcode each time they sign in to their account later on, independently from this particular event. To learn more about this authentication method, refer to our guide on Using a One Time Password (OTP) for your RingCentral Events account.
