Integrating Intercom with RingCentral Events

This guide explains how to install the Intercom app on your Organization account to enhance support and interaction with attendees at your events.

What is Intercom?

Intercom is a customer support and communication platform that provides live chat, automated responses, and customer engagement tools. It allows you to manage and interact with your event attendees in real time. Intercom offers several paid plans and a free trial.

How does the integration work?

Once the Intercom app is installed, an Intercom widget will be displayed in the lower-left corner of all events associated with your RingCentral Organization. Attendees can use this widget to communicate with your support team during the event.

Installing Intercom

To install the Intercom app on your Organization account: 

  1. In your Organization Dashboard, go to the Apps tab.
  2. Click Discover More on App Store.


  3. In the App store, you can find Intercom under the Help & support category.


  4. On the Intercom page, click Install app.


  5. Enter the App ID.
    Note: To access the App ID in your Intercom account, go to Settings > Installation > With code and copy the App ID from the code (without quotation marks).Screenshot 2023-11-09 at 9.24.01 AM.png
  6. Click Install.
Tip: Intercom does not verify if the added app ID is correct. Preview your event to ensure the Intercom widget is displayed and functions properly.
