The Pre-Event Check tool is available at https://pre-event-check.events.ringcentral.com/. You can share the direct link with your team members and speakers.

Via Audio/Video settings

When joining a screen in a Session room, Expo Booth, or 1:1 meeting, you can access the Pre-Event Check from your audio/video settings.

Running the Pre-Event Check

To complete a Pre-Event Check test:

  1. Open the RingCentral Events Pre-Event Check tool in the browser and click Let's go.

  2. The tool checks if your browser is compatible with RingCentral Events, providing details on browser name, version, operating system, and whether the browser can share audio, video, and perform screen shares. Click Next: Mic and camera to proceed.

  3. Select your microphone and camera from the dropdown menus. Click Record and playback audio to test your microphone, and ensure your camera is functioning by checking if you can see yourself on screen. Click Next: Speakers to proceed.
Note: You may be prompted to grant camera and microphone permissions to the browser first. To manage permissions manually, click the Camera icon at the left side of the address bar and make sure the camera and microphone are both allowed.

  4. Select your preferred speakers from the dropdown menu and click Test your Speakers. If you hear audio, the test is successful. If not, check your speaker connection, volume, or try another speaker. Click Next: Connectivity to proceed.

  5. The tool automatically checks your network for any issues that may affect your event experience, such as VPNs, firewalls, or antivirus software. If issues are detected, temporarily disable these and try again. Click Next: Stream quality to continue.

  6. This test runs automatically, checking video and audio quality, including supported resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and packet loss. Click Next:Results to finalize the test.

Tip: You can expand the Video and Audio sections to see detailed results.

    Video test results include:

    • Video supported:
    • Yes: The webcam is successfully identified and compatible.
    • No: There is an issue with the webcam, or it is not compatible.
    • Quality score: Reflects the overall quality of your video stream based on your device and connection (can be poor, good, or excellent).
    • Maximum supported resolution: Indicates the highest resolution your system can support during the event.
    • 1280x720 (max): Best quality.
    • 720x480 (medium): Moderate quality.
    • 480x360 (low): Lower quality.
    • Supported frame rate: Reflects the maximum frame rate your system can achieve.
Can be 30 fps (max) or lower. A lower frame rate might result in choppy video.
    • Bitrate: The higher the bitrate, the better the video quality and visual clarity.
    • Packet Loss: Ideally 0%, indicating no loss of data during transmission. Anything above 0% could point to a poor or intermittent internet connection, potentially affecting video quality.

    Audio test results include:

    • Audio supported:
    • Yes: The microphone is successfully identified and compatible.
    • No: There is an issue with the microphone, or it is not compatible.
    • Quality score: Reflects the overall audio quality based on your device and connection (can be poor, good, or excellent).
    • Bitrate: The higher the bitrate, the better the audio quality. Audio bitrates can go up to 196 kbps for the best quality.
    • Packet loss: Ideally 0%, ensuring no loss of audio data. Any packet loss may result in choppy or interrupted audio.

  7. In the final step, the results are displayed.
    • Click Restart test to run the Pre-event Check again after fixing some issue.
    • Click Copy results to save the information to your clipboard for sharing with our RingCentral Events Support team for further assistance.
