This guide explains how to install the Interprefy app on your Organization account and add it to your event for simultaneous interpretation.
What is Interprefy?
Interprefy provides both human-generated simultaneous interpretation, AI-powered live captioning and speed translation services. You can request a quote for Interprefy on their website. Ideally, book Interprefy at least two weeks prior to your event.
How does the integration work?
Interprefy can be embedded into the activity panel of a Stage or a Session to enable audio interpretations of your presentations and workshops. Interpreters can be provided by you as an Event Organizer or by Interprefy. Attendees will be able to select one of the available languages and hear the translated speed in real time.
Important: The Stage will be automatically muted when translations are in progress. In the Sessions area, attendees need to manually mute stage audio to be able to clearly hear the translation (if they do not, they will get both the original audio and the translated audio over the top of each other).
Installing Interprefy
To install the Interprefy app on your Organization account:
- In your Organization Dashboard, go to the Apps tab.
- Click Discover More on App Store.
- In the App store, you can find Interprefy under the Translation category.
- On the Interprefy page, click Install app.
✔ You'll be prompted to confirm your choice. Click Install to continue.
Adding Interprefy to your event
-
In a multi-track event, Interprefy can be added to each Stage and Session individually.
-
In a Webinar event, there is a single activity panel due to the singular virtual space, either Stage or Session. To add Interprefy to your Webinar event:
- Go to Event Dashboard > Setup > Basics.
- Scroll down to the Apps section.
- Toggle Interprefy on.
- Enter the tab name (e.g. it can be Translation or anything else).
- Enter the Interprefy URL.
- Once ready, click Save.
Disconnecting Interprefy
To remove the Interprefy integration from the event, navigate to the associated event area settings in the Event Dashboard and unselect the Enabled check box next to the app.
Alternatively, go to the Apps tab in your Organization Dashboard to uninstall the Interprefy integration for the whole Organization.
