Attendee app: Troubleshooting audio/video issues (iOS)

  • Updated

If you're experiencing issues with audio, video, microphone, or camera when attending an event via the RingCentral Events Attendee mobile app, follow these steps to resolve the problem on an iOS device.

Troubleshooting audio issues

Check device volume: Ensure your device volume is turned up using the physical volume buttons on the left side of your iPhone or iPad or by adjusting the volume in the Control Center. For detailed steps, refer to the Apple Help Center.

Disable silent mode: Ensure your iPhone or iPad is not in silent mode by checking the Control Center or using the Ring/Silent switch on the left side of your device.

Wireless headphones: If using Bluetooth headphones or a headset, confirm they are properly connected and that the batteries are charged.

Troubleshooting video issues

Check internet connection: Poor video playback is often due to a weak internet connection. Use a strong WiFi connection instead of relying on slower 3G/4G networks. 5G should work fine, but avoid using free WiFi hotspots in public places, as these are often crowded and slow.

Connectivity settings: Issues may also arise from blocked TCP/UDP ports, especially if you're on a corporate network or behind a firewall. To learn more, refer to our guide on Network connectivity settings.

Troubleshooting microphone and camera issues

When going on screen in a Session or Expo Booth, the RingCentral Events Attendee app needs access to your device’s camera and microphone. You should be automatically prompted to grant these permissions.

If you weren’t prompted, you may need to enable permissions manually:

  1. Close the RingCentral Events app and open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.

  3. Under ALLOW EVENTS TO ACCESS, ensure both Microphone and Camera are turned on. Both are necessary for the app to function correctly.

  4. Once the settings are updated, relaunch the RingCentral Events app and try again.
