Echo in a Session or Stage

Echo and audio distortion often occur when the audio from a live stream is played back on the same device used for streaming. This creates a feedback loop where the sound is re-captured by the microphone, causing an echo.

To resolve echo issues:

  • Use headphones: Wearing headphones can significantly reduce or eliminate echo by preventing your microphone from picking up sounds from your speakers.
  • Keep one browser tab: Ensure that you have only one RingCentral Session or Stage tab open.
  • Mute extra browser tabs: When working with two or more tabs open (e.g. Backstage and front-end Stage), mute the Stage tab to prevent audio feedback. Double-click on the tab and select Mute Tab or Mute Site.
