Limiting attendee open devices and tabs

  • Updated

If you’re concerned about attendees sharing login details, you can limit them to one device or browser tab at a time in a multi-track event.

Note: This security measure does not apply to Organizers, Moderators, Speakers or Exhibitors. To learn more about different roles, refer to our guide on Understanding roles & permissions: Organizers, Attendees, Moderators, Speakers and Exhibitors.

To limit attendees to one device or tab at a time:

  1. Go to Event Dashboard > Venue > Venue Controls (or Event Dashboard > Setup > Access and settings for Onsite events).
  2. Under Login sharing, select Limit attendee open devices and tabs checkbox.
  3. Click Save.

When joining the event from another tab or device, users will be notified and given the option to end the previous session:

  • Yes, I’ll start a new session: the user will continue in the new tab.
  • No, thanks: the user will have to go to the previous tab where the event is already open to access the event venue.
