Using Google Analytics or Meta pixel, you can track page visits on your RingCentral Events landing page and within the online event venue (e.g., Stage, Reception, etc.). You can also track conversions, as purchase events are sent to Google Analytics and Meta Pixel upon successful order completion. This guide explains how to add your Google Analytics or Meta Pixel tracking code to your event settings.
Google Analytics ID
Google Analytics is a free web analytics and statistics tools used for search engine optimization (SEO) and marketing.
When creating a new Google Analytics 4 property on your Google Analytics account:
- Use your event landing page URL as Website URL when creating a property.
- Once the property is created, use the Measurement ID for tracking.
Meta pixel ID
The Meta pixel is a free analytics tool used for measuring effectiveness of your Facebook ad campaigns.
When creating a new data source in your Facebook Events Manager account:
- Use your event landing page URL as Website URL when creating a property.
- Once the pixel is created, use the Pixel ID for tracking.
Adding tracking code to your event
To add a tracking code to your event settings:
- Go to Event Dashboard > Marketing > Sharing and Tracking.
- Go to the Tracking tab and click Add tracking.
- Select Google Analytics or Meta Pixel.
- Enter your tracking code.
- Click Save.
You can add one Google Analytics and one Meta Pixel tracking code per event. All added codes are displayed on the page. To edit or remove a code, click the Menu icon ••• next to the respective code.
Verifying your Google Analytics integration is working
Once you have successfully added the Analytics tag to your event settings, it can take up to 24 hours for data such as traffic-referral information, user characteristics, and browsing information to appear in your reports. However, you can check your web-tracking setup immediately by visiting your event registration page and looking at the Real-Time Report in Google Analytics.
Note: Page visits are not tracked when using privacy-focused browsers or ad blockers. In this case, you will not see your visits in real time or of anyone else who uses a similar setup blocking Google Analytics tracking code.
