Attendee permissions for Sessions

Attendee permissions determine who can watch and share their audio/video within a Session. 

When creating or editing Sessions through the Event Dashboard > Venue > Sessions page, find the Who can watch and Who can share audio/video sections under Access and select your preference for both.

Who can watch setting has the following options and determines who can enter the Session room to watch the stream. Depending on the option you choose, you may need to select ticket types or attendees.
  • Anyone
  • Private (invitation only)
  • Specified ticket types
  • Unlisted (access via link) 
Who can share audio/video setting has the following options and determines the ability to join the screen in the Session room. Similarly, depending on the option you choose, you may need to select attendees who will be able to join the screen. 
  • Anyone
  • Invite only
  • Moderated

Don't forget to hit Save at the bottom of the page.

Tip: If you need to control who joins the screen and to remove participants from the feed in the Session, you have to set your Session as Moderated. 
Note: When selecting an Attendee or a Moderator, ensure they are registered for the event before attempting to select them.

All attendees can find and watch the Session during the event and they can all participate with Video/Audio any time during the Session
Anyone Invite-only

All Attendees can find and watch the Session during the event BUT only selected Attendees will be able to participate with Video/Audio.

Attendees who are not invited will be able to watch the Session, but won't see the share audio and video button
Anyone Moderated All Attendees can find and watch the session during the event BUT only Organizers and specified Moderators will control which Attendees will have permission to participate with Video/Audio
Private (invitation only) Anyone

Private Sessions show up in the event to only organizers and invited Attendees.

Uninvited Attendees will not be able to find the sessions.

All invited Attendees can participate with Video/Audio any time during the Session.
Private (invitation only) Invite-only

Private Sessions show up in the event to only organizers and invited Attendees.

Uninvited Attendees will not be able to find the Sessions.

Only selected Attendees within the group of the invited ones will be able to participate with Video/Audio. Attendees who are not selected will be able to watch the Session, but won't see the share audio and video button.
Private (invitation only) Moderated

Private Sessions show up in the event to only organizers and invited Attendees.

Only Organizers and specified Moderators will control which invited Attendees will have permission to participate with Video/Audio.
Specific ticket types Anyone

Only Attendees with the specified tickets can find and watch the Session during the event. Any scheduled segments linked to these Sessions will only appear to those with the specified tickets. 

All the Attendees with the specified tickets can participate with Video/Audio any time during the Session.
Specific ticket types Invite-only

Only Attendees with the specified tickets can find and watch the Session during the event. Any scheduled segments linked to these Sessions will only appear to those with the specified tickets. 

Only selected Attendees within that group will be able to participate with Video/Audio. Attendees who are not selected will be able to watch the Session, but won't see the share audio and video button.
Specific ticket types Moderated

Only Attendees with the specified tickets can find and watch the Session during the event. Any scheduled segments linked to these Sessions will only appear to those with the specified tickets. 

Only Organizers and specified Moderators will control which invited Attendees will have permission to participate with Video/Audio.
Unlisted Anyone

Only Attendees who have the session URL sent to them by the Organizer can find and watch the Session during the event.

All the Attendees with the Session URL can participate with Video/Audio any time during the Session.
Unlisted Invite-only

Only attendees who have the Session URL sent to them by the Organizer can find and watch the session during the event.

Only selected Attendees within that group will be able to participate with Video/Audio. Attendees who are not selected will be able to watch the Session, but won't see the share audio and video button.
Unlisted Moderated

Only Attendees who have the Session URL sent to them by the Organizer can find and watch the Session during the event.

Only Organizers and specified Moderators will control which invited Attendees will have permission to participate with Video/Audio.
