Screenshare: Sharing audio from any third-party app

  • Updated

During your event, if you attempt to screen share an external app to play music or share a video with audio, you might observe that the audio isn't transmitted. This behavior is common due to browser settings. However, we have a solution for you!

This solution applies to anyone—Organizers, Speakers, or Attendees—who wishes to share their screen and play audio from a third-party app.

Voicemeeter for PCs

This is a third party application that has been used successfully on RingCentral Events. You are able to download the application, and you will be able to play video and audio through your PowerPoint Presentation or from another application on your device. This is not as user friendly as the Mac option but works well.

Loopback for Macs

This is a third party application that has been used successfully on RingCentral Events. You are able to download the application, and you will be able to play video and audio through your PowerPoint Presentation or from another application on your device. RTMP Streaming

Audio will automatically be sent to RingCentral Events when you stream via RTMP from OBS, StreamYard, Wirecast, Ecamm, and others. This is available on the Stage and within Sessions, and you do not have to use any of the above options.

You can see more information about RTMP and the Stage in our guide.

Please check on our Sessions Tutorial and our RingCentral Backstage powered by StreamyYard Tutorial to learn how to screen share browser tab with and without audio.
