This guide explains how to install the Miro app on your Organization account and add it to the screen in a Session room in your event for enhanced collaboration.
What is Miro?
Miro is a collaborative digital whiteboard tool, often used for brainstorming, outlining projects, developing user journeys, and collaborative note-taking. Miro offers a free plan with limited functionality, while advanced features require a paid subscription.
How does the integration work?
A Miro board can be added to the screen of a Session room or an Expo Booth Session. Depending on the chosen access settings, attendees can edit or view the Miro board directly within RingCentral Events.
Installing Miro
To install the Miro app on your Organization account:
- In your Organization Dashboard, go to the Apps tab.
- Click Discover More on App Store.
- In the App store, you can find Miro under the Collaboration category.
- On the Miro page, click Install app.
✔ You'll be prompted to confirm your choice. Click Install to continue.
Adding Miro to the Session screen
To add a Miro board to the screen of a Session room or an Expo Booth Session:
- Open the Share menu and click Miro.
Note: Speakers and attendees can share their screen and Miro, once they've shared their audio and video. Organizers and Moderators can share content without activating their own audio and video on screen.
- You’ll be prompted to sign in to your Miro account and select an existing board or create a new one.
- Choose one of the following access types for your attendees:
- All visitors can edit: Anyone viewing the embed can edit the board. No Miro sign-in or invitation required.
- All visitors can view: Anyone viewing the embed can view the board. No Miro sign-in or invitation required.
- All visitors require access: Anyone viewing the embed needs access to view, comment, or edit the board. Miro sign-in or invitation required.
- Once ready, click Embed board.
Important notes:
- One participant at a time can share a Miro board in a Session room.
- Sharing a Miro board doesn’t count toward the participants' limit. For example, if your Session allows 5 speakers, you can still have 5 participants plus the Miro board sharing on screen.
Disconnecting Miro
To stop sharing Miro in a Session room, open the Share menu and click Stop sharing.
To completely remove the option to add a Miro board to the screen, go to the Apps tab in your Organization Dashboard to uninstall the Miro integration for the whole Organization.
