Integrating Slido with RingCentral Events

This guide explains how to install the Slido app on your Organization account and add it to your event for engaging polls and surveys.

What is Slido?

Slido is an engagement tool used to create polls, quizzes, surveys, Q&As and more. Slido offers a free plan with limited functionality, while advanced features require a paid subscription. 

How does the integration work?

Slido can be embedded into the activity panel of a Stage, Session, Expo Booth, or Reception enabling attendees to participate in the activity within RingCentral Events without leaving the platform.

Installing Slido

To install the Slido app on your Organization account: 

  1. In your Organization Dashboard, go to the Apps tab.
  2. Click Discover more on App Store.


  3. In the App store, you can find Slido under the Polls & surveys category.


  4. On the Slido page, click Install app.
    ✔  You'll be prompted to confirm your choice. Click Install to continue.

Adding Slido to your event

  • In a multi-track event, Slido can be added to the Reception area and each Stage, Session and Expo Booth individually. 

    1. In the Event Dashboard, navigate to your Reception settings or to the settings of the specific Stage, Session or Expo Booth to which you'd like to add the app.
    2. Scroll down to the Apps section.
    3. Under Slido, enter the tab name (e.g. it can be Slido or anything else).
    4. Enter the Slido URL.
      Note: Your Slido event URL can be copied from your Slido account.
    5. Once ready, click Save.
  • In a Webinar event, there is a single activity panel due to the singular virtual space, either Stage or Session. To add Slido to your Webinar event:

    1. Go to Event Dashboard > Setup > Basics
    2. Scroll down to the Apps section.
    3. Under Slido, enter the tab name (e.g. it can be Slido or anything else).
    4. Enter the Slido URL.
      Note: Your Slido event URL can be copied from your Slido account.
    5. Once ready, click Save.

FAQs

How can I see the Slido responses and results?

You can access all of your reports directly through your Slido account as long as you are on the correct paid plan. For more information on downloading Slido data, refer to the Slido Help Center. 

How do I remove the Slido integration?

You can either remove the Slido URL from the specific event area (make sure you click Save on that particular page) or uninstall the Slido integration for the whole Organization.

Are there any participation limits?

Each Slido plan has a different participant limit for the number of people who would be able to join and participate in the Slido event. When an attendee answers a poll question in RingCentral Events, it counts as a participant.

Slido SSO doesn't work with RingCentral Events

If Google SSO or SAML SSO is turned on on your Slido account your Slido links will not work in RingCentral Events and you will get the following error: "sso.grab.com refuse to connect.

To get Slido working with the SSO enabled, make sure to set the privacy settings to Basic in your Slido account.
