Studio: Sharing videos

This guide explains how to share videos in the RingCentral Events Studio.

Important notes: 

  • You and other Studio participants can upload multiple video files.
  • Uploaded files will stay in the Studio even if you restart your device. Feel free to leave and come back anytime to continue working on your content.
  • The videos are streamed from RingCentral Events cloud storage. 
  • Uploaded videos will auto-play and loop when brought to the screen. 
  • Videos can be controlled by Moderators and any Speaker who is on screen.
  • Speakers can bring the video they’ve uploaded to screen (when they are presenting on screen).

Adding a video

To upload a video to the Studio: 

  1. Go to the Stage tab in the Studio panel.
  2. Click Present anything.
  3. Go to the Video tab.
  4. Drag and drop your video file or click the Plus icon to select a file from your computer.
    • Supported format: MP4 
    • Minimum length: 2 seconds
    • Maximum length: 10 hours
    • Maximum video size: 1080p (1920x1080px)
    • Maximum file size: 5GB
    ✔ You will be brought back to the Studio panel where the uploaded video will be listed.
    Note: Video processing time is approximately 0.4x the video length, so upload large videos in advance.

Managing a video

To display a video on the screen, hover over the content tile and click Bring to screen.

Uploaded videos auto-play and loop when brought to the screen. Once a video is on screen, you can control it in multiple ways:

  • Play / Pause: Use the Play/Pause icon on the video tile on stage. Alternatively, hover over the content tile in the Host panel and use the Play/Pause icon there. 
  • Scroll: Use the progress bar on stage to navigate through the video.
    Tip: Bring the video to the screen and pause it at the desired moment. Remove it from the screen, and when you bring it back, it will auto-play from the same point. 
  • Mute / Volume control: Adjust the volume by using the Mute/Unmute icon and the Volume bar on stage.
  • Cinema mode: Hover over the video tile on stage and click the Expand icon to switch to full-screen mode. To come back to the default screen layout, hover over the video again and click the Collapse icon. To learn more about screen layouts, refer to our guide Studio: Changing a screen layout. 

To change the internal video name or remove it from the Studio, hover over the banner tile, click the Menu icon, and click Remove from studio or Rename.

Note: After being removed from Studio, the uploaded videos can still be found under Previous Uploads and added back.
