When hosting an internal or private event, you can add another layer of security by enabling domain restriction. This feature is also useful for preventing bots or competitors from registering. This guide explains how to allow or block specific domains from registering and detail the attendee experience.
Note: Domain restriction applies only to registrations via the landing page. Existing registrants will still be able to access the event.
Blocking or permitting domains
To enable domain restriction for your event:
- Go to Event Dashboard > Registration > Landing Page.
- Toggle on Domain Restriction.
✔ Domain Restriction settings appear below. - Select the restriction type:
- Permitted: to permit the specified domains only.
- Blocked: to block the specified domains.
- Add the list of domains separated by comas (e.g. ringcentral.com). You can add as many domains as you need.
- Click Save.
Attendee experience
When registering for an event with an email with restricted domain, users will see a warning message notifying them that the event is restricted. They can click Try Again to come back to the event landing page.
Inviting external users via Magic Links
To invite external users to a domain restricted event, you can utilize the Magic Links. Users invited through a Magic Link invite will be able to login to RingCentral Events and access the event, regardless their domain.
