Enabling domain restriction can add another layer of security when hosting an internal or private event. This feature is also useful for preventing bots or competitors from registering. This guide explains how to allow or block specific domains from registering and details the attendee experience.
Important notes:
- Domain restriction applies only to registrations via the landing page.
- Enabling domain restriction does not affect existing registrations if any. If needed, you can manually remove unwanted registrations.
Blocking or permitting domains
To enable domain restriction for your event:
- Go to Event Dashboard > Registration > Landing Page.
- Toggle on Domain Restriction.
✔ Domain Restriction settings appear below. - Select the restriction type:
- Permitted: to permit the specified domains only.
- Blocked: to block the specified domains.
- Add the list of domains separated by commas (e.g., ringcentral.com). You can add as many domains as you need.
- Click Save.
Attendee experience
When registering for an event with an email with a restricted domain, users will see a warning message notifying them that the event is restricted. They can click Try Again to return to the event landing page.
Inviting external users via Magic Links
You can utilize Magic Links to invite external users to a domain-restricted event. Users invited through a Magic Link invite can log in to RingCentral Events and access the event, regardless of their domain.
