When using the RingCentral Events Attendee app, you may receive various in-app and push notifications to keep you informed about the event you're attending in real time. This guide covers the types of notifications available in the app and how to manage them.
Notification types
In-app notifications are messages that pop up while you're browsing or watching the event in the RingCentral Events Attendee app.
Push notifications are short messages that appears as a pop-up on your mobile device home screen when you're not using the app.
There is also a notification center in the mobile app where you can view all notifications.
Note: Direct messages will not be listed in the notification center as there is a dedicated DM inbox already available.
The events you will be notified about include:
- Event start time reminder: sent 1 hour before the event you're registered for starts
- Custom announcements: general announcements sent by the event organizer
- Direct messages
- 1:1 meeting invites

Session notifications: include all notifications related to the sessions you've added to your agenda or registered for
- Session starts in 5 min
- Session starts now
- Session rescheduled
Enabling/disabling in-app notifications
Note: Disabling in-app notifications disables all notifications including push notifications. The notifications will still appear in the notification center.
- In the Profile Dashboard, click on the Gear icon to open the app preferences.
- Go to Notifications.
- Toggle Enable notifications to disable or enable all notifications. Alternatively, you can disable specific groups:
- Session notifications include all notifications related to the sessions you've added to your agenda or registered for.
- Direct message notifications include notifications for all incoming messages.
Enabling/disabling push notification
Note: Disabling push notification only doesn't disable in-app notifications.

- Close the RingCentral Events app.
- Locate and launch the Settings app on your mobile device.
- Type Events in the search bar at the top of the screen. Once found, click on the RingCentral Events app to open its settings panel.
- Go to Notifications.
- Toggle Allow Notifications to enable or disable push notifications. Here you're also able configure alerts and lock screen appearance settings.

- Close the RingCentral Events app.
- Locate the RingCentral Events app icon on your device. Click and hold on the app icon to reveal the options menu, then select App info.
- Go to Notifications.
- Toggle Show notifications to enable or disable push notifications. Here you're also able configure alerts and lock screen appearance settings.
